Thousands of tourists visit this fast growing wheat and cattle town each year.” And what do the thousands of tourists do in Shamrock? I stopped in Shamrock once.  I used a pay phone while a nervous dude with a pager waited impatiently, checked into a motel and talked to the owner about Route 66, and then broke the motel’s vending machine.
